There are footpaths to the picturesque village of Cartmel from the grounds and a short drive away you will find Newby Bridge where you can take the steamer to Bowness-on-Windermere with its plethora of attractions.

Take a steamboat to Bowness-on-Windermere where younger guests will love a visit to the World of Beatrix Potter or step back in time and take a trip on the steam train that departs to Haverthwaite.

Just a 5-minute walk away from your cottage is Bigland Equestrian Centre for guests who enjoy riding, and at certain times of the year there is fishing available at the onsite lake.
