The site sits right on the tranquil River Weaver, which is perfect for quiet walks with a partner or small group of friends. Follow the river to the north and you find yourself on the outskirts of Nantwich, which is something of a hidden gem itself.A working, market town, Nantwich is perfect for day trips, especially when the market’s on. This happens most days, but look out for the monthly farmers’ market, when you can pick up some amazing local produce. While you’re in town, why not check out the Brine Pool, which is one of the last of its kind in the UK. The pool is said to have excellent healing powers, and will certainly relax aching muscles. It’s also heated to a nice temperature, whatever the summer weather.Nantwich is also famous for having the most listed buildings per square mile than anywhere in the country. This will keep you busy sightseeing, while the town also has plenty of unique shops, and pubs and restaurants to keep you going.Further afield, both the Welsh and Shropshire borders are on your doorstep, with some amazing country walks and stunning countryside. Market Drayton is a favourite with visitors, and is just a short drive to the south. The town sits on both the River Tern and the Shropshire Union Canal, so there are some excellent walking and sightseeing opportunities. Slightly to the west of Drayton is the border between England Wales, and an excellent place to visit this is at Fenn's, Whixall & Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve. This unspoiled part of the border is home to hundreds of species of birds and plantlife, and well worth a visit.
Gardener’s Lodge is in the perfect place, and has all the facilities, to spend a relaxing holiday in the countryside. The private garden area is a haven in itself, but the winding river nearby will make you want to explore the superb surrounding rural location. Nantwich is an excellent place to spend the day and stock up provisions, as well as a great base to plan wider adventures.
With the Welsh border nearby, its historic attractions and market towns, a short drive in the country will reward you with unique sights and memories. The area is also handy for much bigger local towns and cities, including Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and Liverpool. However you spend your days, you have the luxury of knowing that your lovely quiet lodge awaits, complete with your own private hot tub.
