What To Expect

Relax in a lodge surrounded by 100 acres of tranquil woodland at Griffon Forest. Wildlife can be spotted right outside the door, and if you’re lucky you might see the local badgers.

These oak lodges sleep 2, 4 or 5 people and are perfect for a quiet, romantic trip or a family getaway. They all feature exposed wooden cross beams, modern kitchen fittings and a private raised deck with a hot tub.

Three woodland walks start at the park, with trails of 2 to 5km. Cycle hire is onsite for rides through the forest, and within an easy stroll is a golf course with Tykes Restaurant – a friendly place to grab a meal.

Each lodge has its own outdoor hot tub nicely positioned on the end of the deck.

A privacy screen gives you a little seclusion from the world as you sit back and relax. There’s a couple of handy shelves above the hot tub so you can place a drink and snacks within arm's reach.

The Accommodation

The lodges have two or three bedrooms, and there’s also a cottage available with three bedrooms too.

All the accommodation is simply furnished with every essential. Every accommodation has its own hot tub outside with space on the deck to dine al-fresco.

Pet Friendly

YOUR PETS ARE WELCOME

One or two dogs are allowed to stay with you in selected accommodation at Great Hatfield Lodges.  Take the whole family, including your four-legged friend, for a long walk by the sea at Hornsea.

This popular town is just 2 miles away so you can drive there in minutes. There are some areas where dogs aren’t allowed between May and September, but just outside of the busiest areas they can run freely all year around.

Cedar Lodge

A two-bedroom lodge sleeping up to six people with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Simply furnished, the living-dining area has a flat screen TV, DVD, sofa and a table with chairs.

In the modern kitchen you will find all the mod cons like a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus a microwave oven. The hot tub on the deck is a welcome addition.

Oak Lodge

Ideal for a family or group of friends, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom plus two twin bedrooms.

Exit the living room through the glass double doors and you'll find a timber deck furnished with garden chairs and a private hot tub. An area of grass around the lodge creates a feeling of space. One dog is welcome.

Ash Cottage

This brick-built, two-storey cottage has room for 9 people with two double bedrooms and a triple bedroom upstairs. The kitchen diner has a table seating six with space for three more at the breakfast bar.

The bathroom has a shower. Outside there's a lovely enclosed garden and a private hot tub. Two dogs are welcome at Ash Cottage.

Activities in the Aldbrough Area

Great Hatfield Lodges are perfectly positioned for visits to the Yorkshire Coast and East Yorkshire countryside. It’s also only 14 miles to Hull, a British City of Culture. 

The lodges are on the edge of the local village, a friendly place with a local pub that welcomes dogs inside.

Just 2 miles away is the small seaside town of Hornsea. The beach is a wide, sand and pebble stretch where little ones can play and adults relax for a while. Bridlington is a larger resort 18 miles north with a harbour, Cruckley Animal Farm, Leisure World and great shopping.

Hull is 14 miles from the Great Hatfield. There is plenty to do in this city, and not to be missed is the old town where the Hull and East Riding Museum features a woolly mammoth! Over in the marina area you’ll find tapas bars, coffee shops and trendy stores. There is a theatre, art gallery and a wide choice of restaurants too in Hull.

The East Riding area of England is a lovely place to explore and these properties offer the perfect base to see it all from.

What could be better than having a buzzing city, quiet villages, open countryside and the British seaside all within a few miles of your accommodation?
