Invergordon is a brand new, purpose built holiday cottage set in the rolling countryside of the Fylde district of Lancashire. This peaceful rural setting sits to the south of Morecambe bay, and is also very handy for nearby Blackpool.

The cottage has three bedrooms, and can sleep up to seven people comfortably, with the choice of space for up to three dogs.

All furnishings are contemporary, and the open plan living area is very well lit. French doors lead onto private, fenced decking area complete with hot tub.

It has the flexibility to house a small family, with bunk beds and cot available if needed. A wood burning fire sits in its own fireplace with chimney breast, in a contemporary modern lounge.

Activities in the pilling area

Invergordon is tailor made for families or groups to get away from it all in privacy. The cottage itself has plenty of room for toddlers and dogs to roam around in safety, while the adults will certainly enjoy the hot tub, hidden from the world behind your own private fence.

The wider setting of Pilling is the huge open space of the Fylde, one of the most peaceful places in England. Lying to the south of Morecambe Bay, there is a heavy emphasis on fishing in the area, from sea fishing to river angling. There is a network of waterways and lakes throughout the area, which is low lying and flat. This gives huge opportunities for easy or harder dog walks, and anglers will love it. There is even a hatchery nearby, and the village of Fishers Row lies across the river.

Golfers will also love this part of the world, as there are many links courses in the area. The coastal stretch from the mouth of the Wyre, south past Fleetwood, also has plenty of walking and sightseeing opportunities, including rare wildfowl which thrives in the estuary. Further south, a short drive down the coast, is Blackpool, which has daytime activities and treats for the kids and dogs, not to mention night time ones for the adults.

For healthy, adventurous visitors, nearby Pendle is a challenging hike, and also has the chance to go paragliding. Pendle is also famous for its legendary witch trials, and there are visitor attractions to mark these. History is everywhere in this part of Lancashire, not least in the nearby County town of Lancaster. There are many hidden gems in the area, in unspoiled market towns and country villages. Further afield lies the Forest of Bowland AONB, Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks.
