Carr End Barn B is a beamed holiday cottage with room enough for eight, set in the Lancashire village of Stalmine. The hilltop vista has views of the Fylde coast, and open countryside as far as the eye can see.

Four bedrooms, one en-suite, give plenty of scope for family and group holidays. Joined lounge, dining and kitchen area, all brightly lit through French doors which lead onto private patio with a hot tub, games room, TV rooms and cave.

Activities in the Stalmine area

Carr End Barn B feels like part of the rural landscape, as it sits in the ancient country village of Stalmine. The village is slightly raised above its surroundings, so each morning gives a chance to look around and decide where to go for the day.

The River Wyre dominates this part of Lancashire, and lies just to the west of Stalmine. It flows into the south end of Morecambe Bay, and the whole area is low lying and home to unique bird life. There is a huge coastline nearby for those feeling energetic, and the Queen’s Promenade starts in nearby Cleveleys, stretching for three miles down Blackpool’s North Shore.

Blackpool itself has plenty to keep everyone occupied, day or night. During the day, the Sea Life Centre and Blackpool Zoo should keep young people and furry friend amused, while there is also Madame Tussauds, and of course the world famous Tower to visit. Needless to say, there are countless pubs, tea rooms and restaurants for refreshments at most times of day or night.

For nature lovers, there are a number of nearby locations to explore. The Ribble Valley has some outstanding scenery, and lies just across the M6 from Stalmine. Included in the Valley are the Forest of Bowland AONB, not to mention a host of historic and welcoming market towns and country villages. For day trips further afield, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is slightly further east, and to the north is the edge of the Lake District National Park.

A Final Note

Carr End Barn B is ideally set up for group holidays, be they family or adult based. Two families could stay here quite comfortably, and have plenty to do.

The indoor facilities, including games rooms, are perfect for rainy days, while the surrounding area has countless opportunities for country walks and days out. There are several areas of outstanding beauty nearby, and the coast is a short drive, or slightly longer dog walk, away.

There is a pub less than half a mile away, for refreshments after a day out in the open. Once back in the cottage, a private hot tub awaits to end the day perfectly.
