Activities in the Ellesmere area

This outstanding park is conveniently located for guests who want to make the most of all this area has to offer. There is so much to see and do within easy reach you will be spoiled for choice.

Woodland Park is a fabulous location for cycling and the park offers bicycle hire, so you don’t even have to worry about bringing your own to be able to explore the area on two wheels.

The surrounding Meres (Lakes) offer a wide variety of water sports including kayaking, canoeing and sailing so those who like messing about on the water are well-catered for too and golf enthusiasts will be pleased to learn there are some excellent courses nearby with around 30 to choose from.

Wildlife lovers will enjoy a trip to Wood Lane Nature Reserve, a disused industrial site which is now a haven for more than 180 species of birds and history buffs will enjoy trips to Whittington Castle and Weston Park
